My Spotify Wrapped 2020 in Colors and Fonts

Spotify users wait in anticipation for the personal end-of-year presentation of songs and podcasts they listen to most year after year. Here, I share my 2020 results in the form of colors and fonts. The colors are inspired by the song or artist's album art, with fonts chosen to match the mood of the artist.

TALKING HEADS

My incumbent most listened-to artist of the year. Red, black and white represent the album art of True Stories (with tracks like "Radio Head" and "Wild, Wild Life").

Font: Italicized Anton, inspired by advertizing fonts like Permanent Headline, which was designed in the 60s and the font used on "True Stories" and the David Byrne art-movie.

Carried Away - French Kicks

My most listened-to song, which Pitchfork called a "nod" to Talking Heads, clocking in at 35 listens.

Font: Open Sans, which seems to line up best with the vertical font on the "Swimming" album cover.
